Healthy Snack Options for Dance Rehearsals, Competitions, Conventions and Recitals

It seems like we are always packing a snack for something – weekend rehearsals, a break during classes, dance competitons, conventions and of course recital.  Listed below are some of the snacks my dancer has grown to love and some ideas that are on her dance friends must have list.  Some of these options are not “costume friendly” so make sure you wear a cover to protect your costume or save those potentially messy items until you have finished dancing for the day.

Fruits & Veggies
Grapes
Frozen Grapes (with or without a little sugar added to the bag)
Banana
Apple
Apple Dipped in Peanut Butter
Cantaloupe
Watermelon
Clementine
Orange Slices
Strawberries
Blueberries
You can even add a dollop of cool whip to your favorite fruit for an extra kick of sweetness.
Sugar Snap Peas
Edamame
Raisins

Snacks:
Popcorn – pop a bag before you go or take along of popcorn such as Angie’s Popcorn – a favorite at our house which can be found at Target.
Sunflower Seeds

Granola Bars
Rice Cakes
Dried Fruits
Almonds
Trail Mix
Graham Crackers
Animal Crackers
Cashews
Pretzels
Craisins
Goldfish Crackers
String Cheese
Yogurt

Dips & Spreads
Veggies & Hummus
Veggies & Ranch
Veggies & Guacamole
Chips & Guacamole
Pita Bread & Hummus
Apple Dipped in Peanut Butter
Celery with Peanut Butter & Raisins
Celery with Cream Cheese
Bagel with Cream Cheese

Kabobs & Wraps
Turkey, Ham, Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes on a toothpick or kabob
Wrap with cream cheese, turkey and cucumber
Wrap with turkey, cheese and lettuce
Cheese Quesadilla with Guacamole
Turkey Roll Ups with Honey Mustard – sliced and placed on toothpicks
Lettuce Wrap – Spread 2 slices of turkey or ham with honey mustard and roll up into lettuce.

Gatorade
Chocolate Milk
